SaxAkkord Duo works in the third-stream crossover space, where composed form meets improvisation and where pieces are written at the intersection of classical and jazz language. Founded in 2016, the ensemble’s distinctive feature is its multi-instrumental approach, pairing concert accordion with the full saxophone family — soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone — opening up a repertoire that spans from intimate chamber music to large-scale concert works. Programs arc from Stravinsky and Khachaturian to Tamarin and Berinsky, alongside original works and venue-shaped improvisations.
Since its founding, SaxAkkord Duo has performed across Europe and Asia, with tours in both regions and appearances at major international festivals such as the PIF Castelfidardo in Italy and the Harbin Summer Music Festival in China, alongside various festivals in Germany and Russia. Through its instrumentation and repertoire, the ensemble traces connections between classical tradition, jazz language, and contemporary music.
